Scholarship Awards Program

For “Children of Members” and “Members”

North Carolina Association of Rescue & Emergency Medical Services, Inc.

The North Carolina Association of Rescue and Emergency Medial Services, Inc. awards each year, thirty-five (35) $12,000.00 scholarships to thirty-five (35) outstanding high school seniors.  These awards will be made to those Seniors who will enroll in a four (4) year college or university in North Carolina, beginning in the Fall after their graduation from high school that same year.  The scholarship may be awarded for a total of four (4) years.

In addition, the North Carolina Association of Rescue and Emergency Medical Services, Inc. awards each year thirty-five (35) $2,000.00 scholarships to thirty-five (35) outstanding high school seniors, who will enter a two (2) year course of study at a community college, technical institute or an accredited trade school in the Fall, after graduation from high school that same year.  This scholarship may be awarded for a total of two (2) years.

The North Carolina Association of Rescue and Emergency Medical Services, Inc. also awards each year twenty (20) $4,000.00 scholarships to twenty (20) eligible members who will enroll in a four (4) year course of study at a North Carolina college or university beginning in the Fall after receiving the scholarship.  Twenty (20) $2,000.00 scholarships are awarded each year to twenty (20) eligible members who will enroll in a two (2) year course study at a North Carolina community college, technical institute or an accredited trade school in the Fall after receiving the scholarship.

Awards shall be based upon the student’s scholastic achievement, intellectual ability, financial need, character and promise of future contribution to our State and Nation.  Selection of recipients is to be made without discrimination as to race, sex, creed, or national origin.

This Awards Program provides $610,000.00 per year in a scholarship to 330 children of eligible members and members of rescue squads and emergency medical services in North Carolina
