Safety Town is up and running inside the Cleveland Mall on E. Dixon Blvd. Every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 to 1 Cleveland County EMS personnel are on hand to check blood pressures and blood glucose levels for free. The first Wednesday of June, July and August the Health Department will also have nurses on hand to check cholesterol levels for those who are interested.
On Tuesday’s each week, Shelby Police Department will run Gun Safety Programs at 10 and 11 am for children ages 5 – 10 years of age.
On Wednesday’s each week, the North Carolina Highway Patrol will have Stranger Danger Programs at 10 and 11 am fro children ages 5 to 10 years of age.
Shelby Fire Department will have Fire Safety Programs each Thursday at 10 and 11 am for children ages 5 to 10 years of age.
On the third Saturday of each month, Cleveland Community College and Cleveland County EMS will sponsor a Community Family and Friends CPR class at 10 am.
All programs and Services are FREE
Fire Safety, Gun Safety and Stranger Danger Programs must be scheduled one month in advance in groups of 10 or more. (But will consider smaller groups)
